OCEAN ALLIANCE, EVERGREEN

EVERGREEN, Within OCEAN Alliance, Will Deploy 330 Ships in New Services

OCEAN Alliance is a partnership launched in 2017, with EVERGREEN. At that time, the Alliance was meant to go for 5 years renewable for 5 more. With this new agreement, starting in April, it will last until 2027.

The “Day 3 Product” how it is called, will provide a bigger offer with 38 services, assured by 330 containerships. This will mean a global cargo capacity of about 3.8 million TEU.

The partnership comprises four Shipping Lines. Their primarily goal is to provide the largest service offer on the Transpacific trade, reinforce the offer between both Asia – Europe and Asia – Mediterranean. With 19 services in the Transpacific, a strengthened offer between Asia and Europe with the addition of a 7th service, and a large offer between Asia and the Mediterranean, the Alliance will meet their purposes.

Besides that, OCEAN Alliance would link North Europe to the East Coast of the United States and the Gulf of Mexico with 2 Transatlantic services, offer 4 services between Asia and the Middle East, and 2 Asia-Red Sea services.

Ever Grade is a Clear Bet In The European Market

Ever Grade was incorporated in the Ocean Alliance in the Asia – Europe “NEU6” service, the “CEM” China – Europe – Mediterranean of EVERGREEN.

EVERGREEN’s ships which used to operate in this service, used to have about 14,000TEU. This fleet is being upgraded to 20,000TEU ships. The first “megamax” ship to be integrated in “CEM” was Ever Golden that came from “NEU3” last December.

With the transport capacity increase to the European market, Ocean Alliance recognize the value of Europe, as its potential to grow.

This program is leading to an increase and renewal of EVERGREEN’s fleet. Therefore this will allow to increase the quality of the service we, Green Ibérica, supply to our customers. Beyond that, this will reinforce the line’s competitiveness in the marketplace as gets a lot more ecological with all the green technology support the vessels are equipped with.

Ever Gifted starts operations for Evergreen Line

Ever Gifted is the fifth of the brand new G-Class at Evergreen’s disposal. With six vessels yet to be delivered, these giants of the sea are the carrier’s largest container ships and they come with standard ‘megamax’ dimensions of 400 m in length and 59 m (23 rows) in breadth.

The first of these ships was delivered on March 2018 and the last one is expected to be delivered on September 2019

Equipped by an eleven-cylinder MAN-B&W G95ME main engine rated at 59,250 kW MCR, the ships can reach commercial speeds of up to 21 knots.

The Ever Gifted joined the OCEAN Alliance Asia – Europe ‘NEU6’ loop. This service is branded ‘CEM’ by Evergreen.

This Evergreen-operated loop is currently being upgraded from 14,000 to 20,000 TEU tonnage. The first ‘megamax’ to phase into the ‘NEU6’ was the Ever Golden, shifted from the ‘NEU3’, where she was replaced by 14,000 TEU tonnage, in early December.

This capacity boost allocated to the European market is a clear sign of the trust Evergreen have in this geographic area. It is a clear recognition of its value and its growth potential.
