EVER AIM is the Third of the World’s Largest Container Ships Delivered to EVERGREEN!
EVER AIM is already sailing at the service of EVERGREEN Marine. After the arrival of EVER ACE in July and of EVER ACT in September, this is the third ship with 23,992 TEU capacity in the Taiwanese carrier.
All three container ships already delivered were built by Samsung Heavy Industries. In addition to these, the company is in charge of building three more, in a total of six ‘Megamax-24’, ‘A-class’ that were contracted. The delivery of the remaining is scheduled for this year 2021 and for the next one in 2022.
In addition to being the largest in the world at the moment, these ships are also distinguished by being equipped with scrubbers, purifying filters that allow capturing a good part of the smoke produced, significantly reducing emissions into the atmosphere.
EVER AIM Features
Just like its older brothers, and in addition to the aforementioned 23,992 TEU capacity, the EVER AIM has a deadweight of 241,900 tons, an Loa of 400 meters and a beam of 62 meters (24 rows). The WinGD-11 X92B diesel engine drives the “Megamax” at commercial speeds of up to 22.5 knots. EVERGREEN’s latest ship comes with a bulbless vertical stem which, compared to conventional bulbous bows, is intended to better manage energy, saving both in fuel costs and gas emissions into the atmosphere.
Operation of the new EVERGREEN Container Ship
EVER AIM will soon phase into the OCEAN Alliance ‘NEU6’ Service (branded as ‘CEM’ by EVERGREEN), which links the Far East and Northern Europe. It will replace the vessel TITAN, with 14,424 TEU of capacity. With this upgrade, this loop will be ensured exclusively by ‘Megamax’ ships, above 20,000 TEU capacity.
It’s October 4th, the Day Green Ibérica Will Return to the office!
The months of containment, safekeeping and self-protection have been long. Times when life as we knew it remained suspended.
After some “false starts”, false hopes and a few steps back, it seems we are finally able to get back to the right path: forward. The conditions seem to be in place for a “new normal”, more like the old one – because not everything that is new is good.
With this, and taking all the necessary precautions, we are ready and Green Ibérica will return to our facilities. The long-awaited return will be on the 4th of October, and we will follow all the rules, so that it can be done safely!
We will meet again, but not everything will be the same. Because this still have to be a responsible return, adapted to a new reality, despite being an important step in the right direction.
We believe that, during the last few months, we were able to deliver our services effectively, without being felt that we were with a part of the team in a teleworking regime.
This is the time to take a step forward, it’s time to get back to base!
EVER ACE, the Largest Container Carrier in the World, Beats the World Record for Cargo Carried!
EVER ACE, which recently became the largest containership to cross the world’s seas, also broke the record for transported cargo, on its maiden voyage in the Suez Canal, with 21,718TEU! That’s 285TEU more than the previously recorded maximum!
Since it was its maiden voyage, and because of its unique dimensions, it was closely observed by the Suez Canal Authority, as is usual in these circumstances.
According to the Suez Canal Authority, following its protocols for large ships, especially on its maiden voyages, chief guides were sent to receive and welcome the ship. In addition, a group of senior authority guides, and a tugboat, were assigned to provide additional navigation support while the main traffic office and guide stations, monitored the EVER ACE’s progress during transit.
The head of the Suez Canal Authority, Lieutenant-General Rabie, took the opportunity to highlight the cooperation between that authority and EVERGREEN. The long relationship with EVERGREEN was highlighted with the approximately 210 ships of the Line that transited through the channel in the last 12 months, representing more than 31 million tons. In 2021, around 145 ships belonging to the shipping company, with a total net tonnage of approximately 22 million tons, already passed through the channel.
EVER ACE Features
The first of 12 containerships of the new “A-Class” category, and the first “Megamax-24” in the EVERGREEN fleet (the remaining will be delivered during this and the next year of 2022), have 23 992 TEU, 400 meters long, 62 meters wide and deadweight of 225,000 tons. These new megamax ships are equipped and powered with exhaust gas purifiers. To add to all that, this vessel is equipped with an 11-cylinder WinGD X92B diesel engine, that drives the ship at speeds of up to 22.5 knots.
EVER ACE, which has become the largest container ship to cross the world’s seas, is already sailing under the command of EVERGREEN! It was at the end of last July that Samsung Heavy Industries delivered to EVERGREEN the EVER ACE. With a capacity of 23,992 TEU, this giant has become the largest container ship to sail the world’s seas!

EVERGREEN’s New Ships and Environmental Commitments
In line with the environmental concerns that EVERGREEN has imposed in its own activity, these new megamax, as well as seen in the latest G-Class already delivered, come equipped with various environmental protection systems and strictly comply with the regulations of international maritime agencies.
These vessels incorporate new intelligent technology, which includes energy-saving devices that significantly reduce fuel consumption and thus reduce toxic gas emissions into the atmosphere.
With these new acquisitions, EVERGREEN bets on the rejuvenation and increase of its fleet. This increases the quality of the service provided to its customers and significantly reduces the emission of polluting gases into the atmosphere.

EVER GIVEN Departed from the Suez Canal Last Wednesday.
Evergreen Line was notified that, after more than 100 days held in the Suez Canal, EVER GIVEN was finally allowed to sail.
The approximately 400 meters giant, with a capacity of over 20,000TEU, was released after the owners, the Japanese company Shoei Kisen Kaisha, and the Suez Canal Authority reached an agreement regarding the compensation to be paid. The value, which was initially at US$ 916 million, ended up being reduced to US$ 550 million.
According to the information provided by the company that owns the containership to Evergreen, EVER GIVEN departed the Great Bitter Lake in the Suez Canal and arrived safely at Port Said. Here it will be inspected and as soon as it obtains the seaworthiness certificate, it will depart towards Rotterdam, where it is to be expected on July 23rd.
Evergreen appreciates the efforts of all interested parties and will keep in close contact with the owner of EVER GIVEN so that the ship can resume its voyage.
